Richtra
Just a few meters from the center of the settlement of Keratokampos and the coast, a uniquely beautiful nature trail leads to Richtra, a beautiful and much-photographed waterfall that impresses every visitor with its view.
The Portela Gorge
One of the most impressive and challenging gorges of Crete lends its name to our apartment complexes, just 3 kilometers away. The Portela Gorge, beloved by experienced canyoners, channels crystal clear waters into the Libyan Sea from Mount Dikti, and constitutes in itself a unique tourist destination and an unforgettable experience when visiting it.
Vigla
Above the settlement of Keratokampos and Kapsala rises the steep hill Kerato/or Vigla (=observatory) on which the ancient city of ‘’Keraia’’ was built. Traces of the castle wall survive even today, keeping its history alive.
The Art Gallery
The southernmost art gallery in Europe is located in the settlement of Keratokampos, and is housed in an impressive, modern and specially designed building of imposing architecture. It hosts dozens of works by great Greek and foreign artists, exhibitions, and, in parallel, organizes excellent quality artistic and cultural activities during the summer season, open to the public.
Saint Demetrius, the Galatoktistos
The Venetian church of Agios Dimitrios is located in the settlement of Kastri and its name means built with milk, as according to tradition it was built with milk instead of water, which was offered as a vow by the local shepherds of the area.
Beaches
Beaches: Listi, Armenopetra, Skouros Three magical, otherworldly beaches attract a multitude of visitors and impress with their cleanliness, beauty and energy. Listi, Armenopetra and Skouros are always high on the list of visits for those who choose the area for a vacation or a short getaway.
In the wider area, visitors can enjoy local, attentive, homemade/non-tourist cuisine and, of course, fresh fish of the day offered by all the picturesque tavernas in the area, with their tables next to the sea, both in the port and in the center of the settlements, while at the same time the area has beautiful and idyllic cafe-bars, ouzo bars and mini markets.
